Digital Presentation

Plan, create and present slides with clear structure, readable text, suitable images, tables and restrained animation.

Core ideas

1. Understand the idea

An effective presentation has a clear purpose, audience, sequence and visual hierarchy.

2. Key knowledge

Create slides using layouts and templates; save the file and export to PDF where required.

3. Apply it

Use normal, outline, notes and slide sorter views for different editing tasks.

4. Remember the process

Format text, use bullets and tables, add and resize images, and group objects when useful.

5. Use it responsibly

Slide masters support consistent layouts. Transitions and animations should guide attention, not distract from the message.

Worked scenario

A five-slide science presentation can use: title and question; method; results table; labelled chart; conclusion and source. One consistent slide master makes headings and page numbers uniform.

Practice questions with answers

1. How is a slide master useful?
It applies shared design elements and formatting across slides, making the presentation consistent and easier to update.
2. When should an animation be removed?
When it delays reading, distracts the audience or adds no meaning to the presentation.

Practical evidence

Keep a small practical record: task, tool, steps, result and one learning. For technical units, repeat the operation with a new file or data set so you can explain what changes and what stays the same.
