Curriculum structure
CBSE lists 70 theory marks across three units plus practical assessment: Computer Systems and Organisation, Computational Thinking and Programming I, and Society, Law and Ethics.
Verified syllabus units (3)
Computer Systems and Organisation
Study hardware, software, CPU, memory, operating systems, Boolean logic and number systems. Example: 1101₂=13₁₀. Truth tables let you verify AND, OR, NOT and XOR circuits.
Computational Thinking and Programming I
Analyse inputs and outputs, design an algorithm, code, test and debug. Python indentation defines blocks. Example factorial: start at 1 and multiply integers 2 through n; for n=5 the output is 120. Test 0 and 1 as boundary cases.
Society, Law and Ethics
Digital footprints persist. Protect data, recognise phishing and malware, respect copyright and licences, consider cyber safety, IT law and responsible e-waste disposal. Open-source software still has licence conditions.
