Question 1

What is the purpose of a stage direction?

A stage direction guides actors or readers about movement, gesture, tone or setting. It adds information that dialogue alone may not provide.

Question 2

Why is the ending ironic?

The engagement is announced as a happy resolution, but the couple immediately resumes arguing. Their behaviour contradicts the expected calm ending.

Question 3

How should an interruption be shown in dialogue?

Use punctuation and a clear speaker change according to the format being used. Keep the interruption readable and preserve who is speaking.
